taco bar
A taco bar is a great, cost effective way to provide a filling meal and is always a hit with our guests. Serve with hard or soft taco shells, or change it up and serve over baked potatoes!

Recommended toppings and sides: lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, shredded cheese, nacho cheese, sour cream, guacamole, rice, and beans.

Amounts: Plan for 2-4 tacos per person, depending on size, plus some extra for big appetites.
meatballs
Meatballs are an easy and filling option that you can dress up many different ways! Serve with a red sauce, teriyaki or sweet chili sauce, or go for Swedish meatballs!

Recommended sides: pasta, rice, stir-fry veggies, salad

Amounts: Plan for 5-10 meatballs per person, depending on the size. They will probably fill 2-3 large crockpots or roasters. For side dishes, plan for 2-3 pans that are 9x13 or equivalent.
Casserole
or hotdish
This is Minnesota, so hotdish is always a hit! Any type of casserole that has protein, carbs and veggies will do the job. Be creative!

Amounts: Plan for at least 4 pans that are 9x13 or equivalent. 2-3 pans for side dishes.

Hot sandwiches with a few different fillings are a great option to feed a lot of people. One poultry option, one red meat option and one veggie option is perfect for everyone!

Recommended fillings: chicken bacon ranch, philly cheesesteak, pulled pork, turkey and cheese, french dip. Recommended sides: chips, pasta/macaroni salad, veggies, fruit salad

Amounts: plan for 1-2 six-inch sandwiches per person (or equivalent).

Want to help out, but don't want to cook? You can always order pizza or purchase something else! Here are some ideas and recommended amounts.

Pizza: 12 - 13 large pizzas (cheese, pepperoni, sausage, veggie)
Fried chicken (Cub Foods or Hy-Vee Deli): plan for either 1 large or 2 smaller pieces per person, plus sides.
Sub Sandwiches: Jersey Mike's, Jimmy John's and Subway all have catering bundles.
